Runway 34- A Pilot Story

Some Action films are of fights, some are of intelligence, rare to find such a film that includes both. Runway 34, is that kind of film. We have three big stars and the story roams around them. Ajay Devgan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Amitabh Bachchan.

Ajay Devgan as a Captain Vikrant Khanna is a potential guy, who has a unique style to deal with things. A stylish look and a face of many questions is a character of Ajay, but at the same time he is patriotic and self-aware, and his classic calculations are always to be right.

Written by Sandeep Kewlani and Aamil Keeyan Khan, it is based on a real incident that took place on Jet Airways Doha to Kochi flight.

The interesting thing is to see the cinematography of the movie, as most scenes are shooted in the cockpit, it is very difficult to do that. The next character is Amitabh Bachchan, who played the role of Narayan Vedant, a lawyer. He is perfect all the time. His motive to block his statements of Ajay and also Rakul who played the role of Tanya Albuquerque, who is the first officer pilot on the plane is worth seeing. The counter questions and the evidence all put together make a scene and the movie logically watchable.

Another surprise we see is Carry Minati in the movie aka Ajey Nagar. His cameo character adds a little pace to the story. Also, though Boman Irani makes his presence felt he doesn’t have much scope to perform. Rakul has performed her role well, making the screenplay go further. We also get to know the psyche behind every pilot after and before the charge of the flight.

The flight incidents which takes place are in control before take off , which can be taken care of. ATC and weather conditions should be analyzed most probably correct before take off, so that such incidents might be avoided.

Another important part of the movie is VFX. It is probably seen the VFX is the key display of the movie. So is here. The environment of the sky and the feeling of turbulence made the movie feel like the real thing.

Overall, a good movie and a one-time watch film is in theatres near you. Do Watch. It is rated 8.4/10 on IMDb.
