Review: 'Madgaon Express'

In "Madgaon Express," directed by Kunal Kemmu, we're taken on a journey that blends elements of classic buddy road movies with a modern twist. The film follows the adventures of three childhood friends, Dhanush (Divyenndu), Ayush (Avinash Tiwary), and Pratik (Pratik Gandhi), as they embark on a long-awaited trip to Goa. However, their plans take a chaotic turn when a bag mix-up on a train leads them into a whirlwind of misadventures involving drug gangs, undercover agents, and colorful characters.

While the plot may seem basic, it's the chemistry between the three friends and the attention to detail that elevate the film. Each character represents a different archetype, adding depth to their interactions and preventing the story from becoming too formulaic. Divyenndu shines as the quick-witted Dodo, while Tiwary and Gandhi deliver solid performances as well.

Despite some weak moments and clichéd elements, the banter between the friends keeps the film engaging. Supporting performances from Chhaya Kadam and Upendra Limaye add to the film's charm, although cameos from Norah Fatehi and Remo D'Souza are somewhat underwhelming.

Overall, "Madgaon Express" is a fun, if somewhat silly, ride that pays homage to classic buddy movies while adding its own unique spin. It may not break new ground, but it delivers enough laughs and entertainment to satisfy audiences looking for a lighthearted romp.

Excel Entertainment continues their tradition of glossy, entertaining films, with this latest addition to the road movie genre.

The film is rated 8.3/10 on IMDb. Do watch.
