Nisarg Srishti Welfare Foundation Organizes Environmental Awareness and Women’s Wellness Sessions at PDEA’s English Medium Secondary School and Jr.College, Akurdi

Pune, Maharashtra - March 13, 2024


In a bid to foster environmental consciousness among the youth, the Nisarg Srishti Welfare Foundation recently conducted an informative environmental awareness session at PDEA’s English Medium Secondary School and Jr.College, Akurdi. The event, hosted and guided by Principal Mrs. Priti Dabade, garnered enthusiastic participation from students and educators alike, all eager to delve into discussions surrounding environmental conservation.



Led by Founder Director Mrs Garima Kavathekar, the session primarily focused on the detrimental effects of noise pollution, plastic pollution and women’s health. Mrs Kavathekar shed light on the far-reaching impacts of noise pollution on both humans and wildlife, urging attendees to consider practical measures to mitigate its effects. Meanwhile, Kushal Khemani, another prominent speaker- two Times TEDx speakers and a young entrepreneur, tackled the pressing issue of plastic pollution, demonstrating innovative methods to repurpose materials and curb plastic usage.



Notably, Khemani’s demonstration on transforming t-shirts into reusable bags offered attendees tangible solutions for reducing plastic waste. Shri Rajendra Kulkarni - Event Manager at Nisarg Srishti Welfare Foundation gave information about NGO’s projects on environmental conservation.


In addition to environmental concerns, the session also incorporated a women’s wellness segment led by Mrs. Sonali Deshmukh- NLP coach, Energy Medicine practitioner, Breathwork techniques, and EFT/Tapping. Mrs Deshmukh underscored the interconnectedness of personal health and environmental well-being, encouraging attendees to adopt lifestyle practices conducive to both mental and physical wellness.



The event featured various competitions aimed at fostering creativity and knowledge in environmental conservation. Students enthusiastically participated in poster making, essay writing, and other contests, showcasing their dedication to promoting pollution control, waste management, and biodiversity conservation.



Congratulations are extended to the winners: Vilaksha Bhirud (1st place), Tanishka Pandharkar (2nd place), and Tamanna Siddiqui (3rd place), whose exemplary efforts exemplify their commitment to environmental stewardship.


Distinguished environmentalists and experts graced the occasion, imparting valuable insights and practical tips on individual contributions to environmental sustainability. The event concluded with an award ceremony, where winners were recognized for their advocacy and dedication to environmental conservation.


The Nisarg Srishti Welfare Foundation's initiative served as an inspirational platform, equipping students with the knowledge and motivation to become champions of environmental sustainability. Such collaborative efforts and community engagement are instrumental in shaping a greener and cleaner future for generations to come.
