I am glad to connect with Mr Himanshu Potdar, who is a Music Composer and Lyricist. His journey of various recordings and lyrics has made him the person he is today. He unfolded some experiences with me through this Interview.

What first got you into music?

Answer: All My family members are really good artists. My parents are the ones who noticed the taste of music in me and guided me in every way they could.

Who inspired you to make music?

Answer: I always wondered how lyricists write a new poem or a song and how composers make a new tone every time. I like to listen to new songs and that made me write lyrics and compose new songs.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Answer: I typically create romantic songs. I myself am a happy-go-lucky person and believe in love. So It's really easy for me to write and compose this genre

I have also created devotional songs, Gazals, bhavgeets, sad songs and folk songs.

What is your creative process like?

Answer: If I am the lyricist then I first create a catchy tune and write the lyrics accordingly. It's really easy to ride a bike on a tar road. Tune is like a tar road on which we can write anything.

If someone sends me the lyrics I read them carefully, understand the mood, ask the lyricist what he wants to portray and then compose it.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

Answer: I would like to collaborate with Singers like Shreya Ghoshal Ma'am, Sonu Nigam Sir and Shankar Mahadevan Sir and Musicians like Pritam, and Shankar Ehsaan Loy.
