“Mumbai 16” bags Best Film Award at10th Goa Short Film Festival

Panaji: Short film Mumbai 16 won the best short film at the 10th Goa Short Film Festival while Lakshmi Iyer bagged the best director award for the short film First Second Chance. Neeraj Shukla won the Best Writing Award for the short film Eh.


The prize distribution of the short film festival, which was held on 4th and 5th November at Sanskriti Bhawan in Panaji, was conducted by veteran writer and critic Shrikant Kulkarni. More than a hundred short films were screened in the festival and 40 short films were given prizes in various categories, informed the director of the festival, Yogesh Barskar.



The short film Sadabahar won the best Goan short film while Mayur Kambli won the best Goan director for the short film Mann Bhavata Khaytari and Sunny Naik won the best Goan writer for the short film Vitthala Vitthala. The short film Pratyadanam won the best Indian short film while Chandradeep Singh Rathore won the best Indian director award for the short film Morchang and Rakhaiv Aftab won the best Indian Writer award for the short film Rat in the Kitchen.


Aditya Lonkar was awarded the best actor for the short film Ganachar, Ayushi Bandra was awarded the best actress for the short film Eh, and Krishnakant Bahirat was awarded the best child actor for the short film Mangaya. Short film Pashaan won the best Marathi short film, while Nilesh Deshpande was awarded the best Marathi director for the short film Vaidyaraj and Rijuta Deshpande and Keur Godse were awarded the best Marathi screenwriter for the short film Happy Birthday.


In this festival, 40 short films were awarded in various fields such as technical writing and acting. The festival was free and open to all.
