Journey of Mompreneur- Harshita Udani

When did you decide to become an entrepreneur?

I was always a passionate person who wanted to do something in life. Being a home maker and a mother never prioritised self. Lockdown came as a blessing, although not very true in literal sense of despair it brought in. But for lockdown gave me some free time away from the routine hustles, running around with kids all day and that’s when I happened to focus on myself.

Having said that it was still not a venture to establish, until Dec’2021 when The Momma Clan came into existence with a single passion of providing platform to writers.

Why did you decide to become an entrepreneur?

The Momma Clan was a passionate beginning to my mompreneur journey, and it opened my horizons to unlimited possibilities of growth and success, all coming together conspired by the universe. But for sure now I share a vision of it for future and its growth. So, The Momma Clan and its growth inspired me to be an entrepreneur.

Is this your first entrepreneurial pursuit?

Yes! Post which I even started my own real diamond jewelry promotions of Mahi Glitz, which was earlier handled by my hubby. Proud owner and designer of Mahi Glitz too now.

What prompted you to start your own business?

Passion and support from family. A desire to do something on my own.

How did you come up with the idea?

Initially, I was myself part of writing communities, but something there I felt had favorism, restrictions and things that created an urge for me to provide writers a platform where they can freely promote their writings and their thoughts without inhibitions. I provide multiple genres prompts to sharpen their creativity in writing. But they aren’t restricted to prompts and can just be published on the website, by sharing their writeups with me.

All my writers are always achievers and are appreciated for all the beautiful writings they share. Because for me, whatever one writes is their creation and their thought, which can never be wrong.

What has been the greatest challenge for you to overcome in your career?

Challenges are faced every day. It helps one learn and grow. But the pushing phase where I did feel like going back was when not many had joined, and I was trying to stay afloat in the big writing world.

Luckily, I can say, I learnt to swim and hopefully, may soon learn to race in this big writing ocean.

What has been the number one highlight of motherhood for you?

Being a MOTHER to my two beautiful kids. Every day of motherhood is a highlight and being their mother is no less than an award of achievement. 😊

What has been the greatest challenge for you to overcome as a mother?

None really. I guess motherhood is a learning journey as is life. You learn new things with your kids each day and that in itself is enriching.

Has it been tricky balancing work and home life?

Yes! It sure is. Many a times life demands are far beyond being a homemaker/mother/wife/daughter, that work takes a back seat. But balancing by pushing your limits each time farther to keep it going, is the way I deal with it.

What do you love most about being a Mom Entrepreneur?

I like that I don’t need to choose between work and motherhood, but at the same time I have the privilege to give myself the opportunity to make it as something in the world outside.

Do you have a message you would like the world to hear?

Life sure is too short, live your dreams. Don’t wait for the right time. Create one and work towards it. Things will start falling in place and make it work for you! YOU are important too.

Is there a book, song or movie that has had huge significance or meaning in your life?

For me a few people, namely both side of my family, hubby, kids and my angel dad are my true inspiration without whom I wouldn’t be what I am. Lastly my motivation for self (pushing myself hard when I am about to fall) all together are of prime importance for all that I do and achieve.
