Anxiety - The Unseen Invisible Killer Disease and a New Age Pandemic.

Anxiety is an ever-present uninvited guest in modern times in communities at large.

Anxiety is seeping through society including kids like a noncontagious disease that silently hides in the corners of our minds and is here to stay. We only have to work at keep on deleting it.

Anxiety disorders involve repeated episodes of sudden feelings of intense fear or terror that reach a peak within minutes. These are often termed panic attacks.

Physical symptoms of anxiety can be your body’s way of letting you know you aren’t coping with stress changes or circumstances well.

Your body responds to the way you think, feel, and act. The mind-body connection is very apparent when you are stressed, anxious, upset or rigid as with high blood pressure, arthritis, stomach ulcer, heart disease, high cholesterol and so on.

At the thinnest end of the wedge, a little nervousness or anxiety before an exam or a job interview is normal and understandable and not a cause for concern.

But surely anxiety is a huge concern when it extends beyond logical worry in an unreasonable and uncontrollable way.

Situations that should bring no harsh reaction or negative emotions all of a sudden seem pressing and life-threatening.

Anxiety can weaken your body’s immune system. This makes you more likely to get colds and other infections during emotionally difficult times.

Anxiety in the body can show up as :

  • Nervousness

  • Trembling

  • Back pain

  • Hyperventilating

  • Change in appetite

  • Chest pain

  • Constipation or diarrhoea
