A Perfect heart-hitting story - 26/11 attacks

The web series shows the devastating atmosphere which was created by terrorists on 26 November 2008. They attacked various famous spots in Mumbai city. Terrorists targeted five prominent places of the financial capital – Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station, Nariman House business and residential complex, Cama Hospital, Leopold Cafe, the Oberoi-Trident Hotel, and Taj Hotel and Tower.

Thus, creating a fiction story based on these attacks, the series shows the ideology, evacuation, and the memories of people related to these attacks.

The series is directed by Nikhil Advani and Nikhil Gonsalves. They have really put an astonishing effort to display many things as they were happening in parts of the city.

The first two episodes show the attack on Leopold Cafe and the causes of it, which were the dead bodies arriving in the Bombay General Hospital. At first, the assumption of hospital staff was a small gunfire or gang war. Soon, the number of patients increased and it came to news that it is a well-planned terrorist attack and the panic begins then. They rush towards the hospital, finding and locating relatives. Some scenes took from Taj Palace, where a hotel staff takes lead to save the people who were stuck in a hotel, to evacuate them. Both directors made effort to put visuals of a terrorist attack and worked on every detail.

The Director of Photography (DOP), Kaushal Shah, making it more interesting to watch the shots from the hospital and also the attacks are shown in various parts of Mumbai city.

The Trainee doctors Sujata, Diya, and Ahaan, acted very well to portray each given character. They gave full loyalty to their role. The trainee played each by Mrunmayee Deshpande, Natasha Bharadwaj and Satyajeet Dubey show the spirit and a perfect doctor model, as they help and cure people injured in attacks.

It is great to see, Prakash Belawadi aka Dr.Mani Subramanium, again in a different role of a strong doctor. Mohit Rana aka Dr. Kaushik, a strong-headed doctor, tries to find a solution in every situation as a doctor and also as a normal man.

Kokana Sen Sharma, wasted her most of role, being at gunpoint and bombed. It would be better if she would also be involved in some actions.

A reporter role played by Shreya Dhanwantary, makes some twists and turns, each in balanced profit of Police force and also terrorist organization.

The complications and disturbance inside the palace hotel, making an emotional drama, is OK to watch. Most of the things, shown are heard and seen on Media, make sense to what is picturized.

All the actors have given their best to their roles and also played them well, keeping the series lively and watchable. We initially see that each character of the series, is looking for their own safety and their own profit, as the situation gets worse, they all realize that it is not a normal attack, each of the characters pounces up to help each other, making a number of ways to get out of the situation.

Mumbai Diaries ends up becoming a never-ending saga of interesting characters rather than a taut thriller of a life-altering real event.

With an IDMB rating of 8.8/10, this series is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Do Watch.
